It’s difficult to articulate just how much COVID-19 has affected everyone’s life. Whether you or a loved one contracted coronavirus, have suffered financially from shutdowns or ‘just’ feel the emotional toll of isolation, it has been a tough, tough year. It would be remiss to talk about COVID-19 and not mention masks, which are mandatory in most states and counties across America and throughout the world.
I don’t think anyone enjoys wearing a mask — it’s more of a necessary evil that enables us to return to school, work or go to the grocery.
How often do you wash your cloth face mask? The CDC and other health organizations recommend daily washing. Here are a few tips to tackle the biggest trend and chore of 2020.
• Implement a best practice for your family, like a drop point for masks upon entering the home. Whitmor’s Mesh Wash Bag is a great option for containing masks because it can be tossed directly into the wash / dryer.
• You don’t have to hand wash masks or launder them alone. Toss them in with a regular load on the warmest appropriate setting.
• It’s best to dry masks in the machine vs. air-drying — the longer something stays wet the more prone it is to bacteria.
• Keep clean masks easily accessible. Find a common place to hang masks for easy grab’n go. Whitmor’s Clip & Drip Hanger is a great option, as it can hold up to 16 masks.
