Whitmor Forms Charitable Giving Committee with Plans to Give Back to Local Community

Feb. 22, 2010

Whitmor, a leader in the home organization, storage, laundry accessory and garment care industry, has announced that it has created a Charitable Giving Committee and plans to give back to the local community through the participation in various fundraising efforts. One of these fundraising efforts will be running a United Way campaign later in 2010 in which the committee will run an intra-company campaign to support agencies that have partnered with United Way. The company plans to also match employee donations. “The importance of giving back to the community cannot be stressed enough,” Scott Felsenthal, Director of Human Resources and Legal Compliance, stated. “Just as an individual has character, so does a company, and Whitmor strives to reach the highest level of corporate character and culture possible. Partnering with the United Way to raise money for our community is another example of how Whitmor strives to reach the highest level of corporate culture.”

Whitmor’s Charitable Giving Committee plans to get involved in other local charitable causes throughout the year. Those currently serving on the committee are Scott Felsenthal, Nancy Yeung, Brandi Siggal, David Taylor, Mike Robinson, Melinda Reed, Greg Dukes, Angela Jett, and Kathy Maaser.
