Our Story

Earle Facility

Under the leadership of the late Charles Whitman, Whitmor commenced business in 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, as a pioneer in the manufacturing of garment bags. In 1961, Whitmor began a 48-year stay in Earle, Arkansas, during which time the company continually expanded its product line.  The late Donald Felsenthal was the heart and soul of our growth as a domestic manufacturer through the mid-1990’s, at which time the company began its transition to overseas sourcing.

In 2009, Whitmor relocated to its new world headquarters and state-of-the-art distribution center in Southaven, Mississippi, located only minutes from the Memphis International Airport. Our new facility provides us with the foundation for continued operational excellence and growth of our primarily Asian produced product categories of home storage, organization, laundry and garment care products.

Southaven FacilityAs a fourth generation family owned and operated business, we take great pride in meeting the many challenges that have presented themselves to our company throughout our 60+ year history. From the successful transition of our business of operating as a fully vertical domestic manufacturing operation for over 50 years to becoming a manufacturing partner with numerous Asian factories; to successfully overcoming the aftermath of a devastating tornado that destroyed our global distribution center in Earle, Arkansas in 2008; Whitmor has consistently exceeded expectations.

From generation to generation, we take greatest pride in supplying products and services to meet the needs of our retail partners, and more importantly the consumers who benefit from the utilization of our products in their everyday lives.

Value, innovation, outstanding customer service and high ethical standards…..these are our commitments to you.  It is a pleasure and an honor to serve both our retail partners and the consumers who purchase and utilize our products, and the entire Whitmor Team will work extraordinarily hard to both gain and maintain your trust and confidence.
