Jimmy Felsenthal

Jimmy Felsenthal
Chief Information Officer

more about Jimmy Felsenthal

Jimmy Felsenthal, Chief Information Officer, was introduced to Whitmor at the young age of 10, when he spent the summer months at the factory in Earle, AR. Later in life, he worked in the shipping department while attending the University of Tennessee, where he earned his degree in business administration.

After college, Jimmy assumed responsibility of the costing of Whitmor’s products and the installation and implementation of new software to run the company. In 2000, software that Jimmy wrote from the ground up was implemented and was utilized by Whitmor until late 2013. Jimmy recently led a multi-year venture to implement new software that enhances Whitmor’s operational capabilities and provides the platform for the company’s future needs. Jimmy and his IT staff are continuing to work with the new software to create even additional capabilities for Whitmor going forward.

In his spare time, Jimmy likes to go for walks, ride bikes with his wife, Wendy, work around the house and watch sports with his stepson, Nick.

Scott Felsenthal

Scott Felsenthal
Executive Vice President

more about Scott Felsenthal

After graduating law school in 2009 during one of the worst economic periods in our nation's history, Scott decided to jump head first into an Executive level role at Whitmor as the first member of the 4th-generation of the Felsenthal family to join the company. Despite what conventional wisdom may suggest, joining the family business was not a birthright and had to be earned.

Since joining Whitmor in 2009 Scott has learned, more than anything, that one of the great secrets to success is to create simple solutions out of complex problems. Scott has found that the best way to achieve this is to think like a contrarian and to not follow a common line of thinking just because something has been a certain way for a period of time, or because the masses suggest a certain path forward is the best path forward.

Scott is always seeking to learn and improve, and he is always curious about things around him and learning what motivates people and businesses to do certain things. Living life with eyes wide open allows Scott to be in the best position for both personal and professional success.

Scott is fortunate to have an incredible and supportive family, and the accomplishment he is most proud of are his two daughters, Mollie and Rosie, who never let him forget that the most important thing to a life full of happiness is eating lots and lots of candy.

James Young
Senior Vice President/Operations

more about James Young

James Young, senior vice president of operations, became a Whitmor employee following his graduation from high school in 1963. After a brief break from the company in 1964, James returned and has served nearly 50 years of continuous service.

Under the mentoring of the late owner Don Felsenthal, James had the opportunity to learn all aspects of Whitmor’s operation. In the early ’90s, when the domestic manufacturing operations were transitioned to offshore facilities, James worked with the offshore factories to ensure a smooth transition to ensure that the quality products for which Whitmor was known for would not be lost.

James is a dedicated family man, having been married to his wife, Sylvetta, for 45 years. He loves to fish whenever he can and cheers for his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks.
